Arthur C. Clarke, author of 2001: A Space Odyssey and inventor of the communication satellite, died on March 18, 2008. He lived in Sri Lanka. He was 90 years old.
My brother and I used to watch "Arthur C. Clarke's Mysterious Universe" all the time when we were younger. To this day when we hear his name, we immediately say "author of 2001: A Space Odyssey and inventor of the communication satellite"!He was a visionary person. He had a very open mind. I never knew the guy or knew any more about him other than what I saw on the TV, but I know he was a very influential person. He will be missed in this world.
