Can't we all just get along!?!?

Okay, first off...I am not a racist.  I am nowhere even close.  I have many black friends.  My nephew is half black even.  So, please, do not take what I am about to write that way.

Now....I have a problem.  I have a problem with what I am seeing on the TV today.  As some of you may know, we have a new President as of today.  Why is every station, every news report focusing on black people?  Seems 90% or more of the "people on the street" interviews that I have seen so far concentrate on black people?  Every interview is of a black person.  Every close up picture is of a black person.  Every crowd reaction is from a black person.  And every single one of them say they never thought they would see this day happen.

Now, I strongly feel that today is a great day in history.  I support our new President.  But, how can we truly move past racism or seeing people of other colors as different if the media doesn't stop focusing on it???  Yes, this is a great day for the black people of this world.  Their ancestors faced more hardships than a lot of us.  Now, my Grandmother and Grandfather lived in Europe during WWII.  My Grandmother moved from town to town to get away from the Nazi's.  My Grandfather was a soldier and was a POW actually.  They had it very hard as well.  They feared for their lives every second of every day.  But, you know what?  That was in the past.  The world has moved on.  We all admit what happened was wrong.  We all admit that it was bad.  We all realize that it can never happen again.

Why can't we accomplish this with racism?  We all know what happened was wrong.  We all know it was bad.  We all realize that slavery and segregation can never happen again.  What is the difference?  Why can't we all stop focusing on the color of our skin and concentrate on the color of our character?  As far as I'm concerned.  You could be black, blue, purple, brown, yellow, red, or pink with orange polka dots; as long as you are a good person and do the right thing...you are all right in my book.

Watching President Obama speak is inspirational to me.  Watching the feelings he brings out in people makes me feel hopeful.  Watching people in other countries celebrate along with us brings a tear to my eye.  President Obama brings hope.  President Obama brings inspiration.  NO MATTER THE COLOR OF YOUR SKIN!  If the Inauguration can bring a tear to my eye.  I'm sure it's bringing a tear to others.  Other white men and women, black men and women, Latino men and women, etc..

So, why the hell am I only seeing black men and women's reaction on TV?  We all feel pride.  We all feel hope.  We are all human.  We are all one.  The media needs to just STOP focusing on race.  How can we move on otherwise?

John McCain is old

Is it just me, or did McCain seem to be lost last night at the debate?  He kept wondering around the stage like a lost old man.  It was getting comical seeing him just walking around while Obama was talking.  I was waiting for him to start yelling at people to get off his damn lawn or something!!!

China cheated in the 2008 Bejing Olympics!!!

I'm sure this is not new news to any of you. But I had to post my take on this. First, I'd like to thank whoever owns the stryde hax blog for alerting me and the world to this travesty. There is also a very good article on The Huffington Post regarding this subject as well.

There is PROOF on an OFFICIAL CHINESE GOVERNMENT WEB SITE ("General Administration of Sport of China") of Olympian He Kexin's age. Of course, the site page has been taken down as well as the cache's of the page.

On this page, there is an Excel spread sheet that states He Kexin was born on January 1, 1994!!! That would make her 14, NOT the required 16 to compete in the gymnastic competition in the Olympics!

I'll focus on a couple of the pages that prove her age. There are more out there, like the one's The Huffington Post talk about. But I'm focusing on the ones that I have screen shots of.

The first page has a title of "2005 National Gymnastics运动员上报注册page in The Matrix" and "2005 National Gymnastics运动员上报注册table.". The categories of the cells are "Mechanism", "Name (middle)", "别with", "Date of birth", "贯nationality", "birth", "Note单位册", "备注".

Minimum raise just went up...wish my raise was that big!

I just found out that the minimum wage just went up .70. (http://cnnwire.blogs.cnn.com/2008/07/23/minimum-wage-to-jump-by-70-cents-thursday/)

I'm not complaining that it went up...It is a much needed raise. I remember what it was like living on minimum wage and will always support raising it.

I'm just a little miffed that it went up higher than my annual raise!!! We usually get at least a cost of living increase at my work, but not this year. It's not even enough to make up the increased amount of money I am spending a week on gas just to go to work! It's not even close! Maybe I should try and find a job closer to home that I can walk to? Or maybe use public transport?

What is the most biased news outlet in America?

Okay, so, on www.foxnews.com; there is a poll on the Bill O'Reilly page. It asks "What is the most biased news outlet in America?" Here are their choices:
"The New York Times", "MSNBC", "Associated Press" & "NPR". Umm...does anyone else find an issue with this???

So, here's what I am going to do! I'm putting a poll together adding Fox News! So, vote! This will be a REAL vote! Unlike those bastards at Fox News! I'll post a pic later when I'm at home of their website with the ironic poll on it.

Stop talking and start doing!!!

I'm just getting tired of everyone saying what needs to change. From politics to the environment to everything else!

Yes, we all like to bitch. But we need to start DOING too!

For example, I've been bitching about the high gas prices now for a while.

Now, here's what I've done about it:

LET OUR VOICES BE HEARD!

First of all, I am a Michigan resident.

I just recently read that the Michigan Democratic Party has proposed that our delegates be seated 69 for Hillary Clinton and 59 for Barack Obama. (http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080507/NEWS15/80507111/1215/NEWS15http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080507/NEWS15/80507111/1215/NEWS15)

I called up the Michigan Democratic Party (517-371-5410) to inquire about this. They said that this was proposed to the DNC as a solution to get our delegates heard. And that it needs to get approved by them.

I then called the DNC (202-863-8000) and she said that the proposal was going to be reviewed on the 31st of this month.

I tried to explain to her, as a Michigan resident, how I don't feel this is fair. #1, we never had Obama on the ballot. And #2, a TON of people never voted because of either he was not on the ballot, or because we were told that we wouldn't get represented anyway.

She said they would make it as fair as possible and basically then got really rude and really wanted me to get off the phone.

Regardless of WHO you want to be President, this is not a fair solution. I urge anyone who cares about a fair political process to call the DNC and let them know this.

Arthur C. Clarke

Arthur C. Clarke, author of 2001: A Space Odyssey and inventor of the communication satellite, died on March 18, 2008. He lived in Sri Lanka. He was 90 years old.

My brother and I used to watch "Arthur C. Clarke's Mysterious Universe" all the time when we were younger. To this day when we hear his name, we immediately say "author of 2001: A Space Odyssey and inventor of the communication satellite"!

He was a visionary person. He had a very open mind. I never knew the guy or knew any more about him other than what I saw on the TV, but I know he was a very influential person. He will be missed in this world.

Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick's State of the City address for Detroit, Michigan

Okay, this is it. I'm as done with this jerk as much as I'm done with dumbass bush! If you don't know, the Mayor of Detroit, Kwame Kilpatrick has been involved in quite a few scandals lately...well, okay...since he took office. I was so hoping that the people of Detroit would wise up and not re-elect him last time. They didn't. They bought his pile of horse crap, hook line and sinker. (yes, I know...i'm funny that way)

Now we have so many new scandals, I'm not even going to get into them here. If you want the latest news, do a Google News search. They are easy to find.

I tried to watch his speech last night. Well, okay, I flipped over a couple times to see what was going on. Nothing to special. Same song and dance. Trying to make himself seem the hero to all Detroit. All the while, the audience standing up, giving him applause. What some don't realize though is the crowd was by invitation only. Hence the reason everyone there loved him!

I did catch his last part...it was the most entertaining part! Here it is in all it's glory:

"And finally, and this may be the most talked-about part of this speech after laying out all of that, but I feel that I cannot leave this auditorium with my wife and my sons sitting there without addressing this issue.

In the past 30 days Ive been called a nigger more than anytime in my entire life. In the past three days I've received more death threats than I have in my entire administration.

I've heard these words before but I've never heard people say them about my wife and children.

I have to say this because it's very personal to me. I don't believe that a Nielsen rating is worth the life of my children or your children.

This unethical, illegal lynch mob mentality has to stop.

And it's seriously time. We've never been here before. And I don't care if they cut the TV off.

We've never been in a situation like this before. Where you can say anything, do anything, have no facts, no research, no nothing and you can launch a hate-driven bigoted assault on a family.

I humbly ask members of council, I humbly ask the business community, I humbly ask the religious community, I humbly ask the brothers and sisters of the city of Detroit - I humbly ask that we say 'no more' together.

I humbly ask that we say no more together. I love this city with every part of my being. I will continue to stay focused on building the next Detroit.

God Bless you, Detroit.

I love you."

How does this happen?!?!?

Why is this jackass still in power???  How the hell can he stay in office???  Is the Senate, or House or whoever the hell has the power not care at all???

Our fine president, george w. bush, has shown yet again how out of touch his is with...well, everything!  During some press statement, or some other thing...okay, I don't know what was happening.  But that's not the point.  bush was asked about the forecasts for $4/gallon gas prices.  His great response?

"Wait, what did you just say? You're predicting $4-a-gallon gasoline?" "That's interesting. I hadn't heard that. . . . I know it's high now."

I know he doesn't pump gas himself, but COME THE FUCK ON!!!!!!!  He REALLY needs to read a newspaper or watch something other than Fox news!

I vote for impeachment and/or lose of confidence is this guy.  Why can't someone do something about this?  Just because he's the president doesn't mean he the right to say or do whatever he wants.  Just ask Bill Clinton.  They tried to impeach him for getting a BLOWJOB!  george w. bush IS a blowjob!!!!!

(I'm changing my email signature from: "To err is human, but to really foul things up requires a computer" to "To err is human, but to really foul things up requires george w. bush"!!!!)

I really hate to do this...

First off, I know that I said I would be posting more.  I've THOUGHT about posting a lot, but haven't actually DONE anything.  I want to take this time to try and explain why...

Six months ago I was involved in a auto accident.  Nothing too horrid, but enough to effect things in my life right now.  Basically me and my girlfriend were heading home and while coming up to an intersection, the car opposite us decided he didn't want to wait for us to pass or for the green arrow; and turned right in front of us.  I was just entering the intersection when he turned.  I was doing about 45 mph.  Of course I slammed on my brakes...I even swerved a bit to the right, but there was nothing I could to in that second to avoid hitting him.

It's weird..I saw the car's side.  I knew I was going to hit him...and then BAM!  All white!  Then smoke!  The white and smoke were from the air bags.  The first thing my girlfriend did was jump out of the car.  She thought it was on fire.  I followed her to find her doubled over leaning on the hood from abdominal pain.  My adrenaline was pumping, and my brain was going so fast, I thought I was fine at that moment.

I must have had this dumbfounded look on my face, because there happened to be a police officer right behind the douche who pulled in front of us; and the first thing he said was to see if we were all right.  Then the next thing he said was something like don't worry, I saw what happened, it wasn't your fault.  I'm still dumbfounded to this day over WHY he did what he did.  I just don't understand.

Anyway, the ambulance came, checked out my girlfriend and she of course refused to go to the hospital to be checked out.  At the time the only thing wrong with me was my hands were really tingly.  The paramedics said it was from the adrenaline and it would go away.

We got home and of course we were both sore and a bit shaken up.  I went to work the next Monday and slowly started to have problems with my hands and forearms.  Most notably my right one.  I saw my doctor and then saw another doctor and then saw another doctor.  One of the doctors gave me a Cortisone shot in my left hand (I believe when the air bag went off, it smacked the side window).  The last doctor said the problems with my right hand was Carpal Tunnel like syndrome and took me off work for 6 weeks to rest and recuperate.  After those 6 weeks, things seemed to be getting better.

I went back to work and then slowly noticed more problems.  The pain in my right shoulder/neck started to get worse.  After another visit to my doctor and a subsequent visit to another specialist and then an MRI, we found I had tears in my shoulder.  I had two tears in my Rotator Cuff area.  I had to have surgery.  While I was waiting for my surgery date and to have the time off from work, I was on work restriction.

Well, other things started to creep up as well.  The pain in my left foot/heel wasn't going away and was getting worse.  The last doctor said it sounded like Plantar Fasciitis.  Sure enough, it was.  I have been seeing a Podiatrist for this and have already had 3 Cortisone shots for this as well.  I was also having a pain in the back of my neck and daily headaches that were not going away or getting any better either.  I had some other tests done and I was diagnosed with severe spasming at my C4-C5 vertebrae.  I was also having pain in my left shoulder area, but nothing like the right side.

These other issues took a back seat to the major problem; my right shoulder.  Well, it's 6 months later.  I had the Rotator Cuff surgery almost exactly a month ago now, and that area is doing better.  I still have very limited motion.  I still can't sleep.  It still hurts like hell from time to time.  But I feel confident that given time, it will be back to normal.  I am starting physical therapy this week.  I hear it can be a pain in the ass and am not looking forward to it.  But I know it has to be done.

Once my right shoulder is better, if the pain in my neck doesn't go away or become more manageable, I will be getting Botox injections from the sound of it.  Yeah, Botox...I had the same reaction.

My Podiatrist said that me being off of my feet should help my Plantar Fasciitis, but I don't know if I believe him.  It seems to be worse now.  I'm going to be following up with him very soon to see what else we can do..if anything.

And as far as my left shoulder, the doc wants to wait for my right shoulder and neck to be taken care of before going any further.  He says that it might just be because I'm using my left side more.  Which would make sense if it started after the surgery or after having problems with my right one.  But since they have both been bothering me starting at almost the same time, I don't quite believe him.  We'll see I guess.

That leaves me to the "I really hate to do this.." part of our show....

As you have read, things have been....interesting for me as of late.  I was taken off of work for 6 weeks a few months back and have been off of work since my surgery a month ago and won't be going back for at least another month from the sound of things.  I am getting disability payments from my work, but they are only like 50%.  Which barely cover my mortgage.  Needless to say, things are tight and are getting tighter.

What I am asking for..and trust me, I REALLY hate this and don't want to do this...but I don't have any other choice.  Anyway, I am adding a PayPal button to this blog and my website.  I'm hoping that the one or two people who actually read this blog from time to time either make a donation, or spread the word and maybe have a rich uncle can make a donation.  Either way, I could really use some help.
Any help will be greatly appreciated by me and I will personally send you a thank you email.  I wish I could do more, but I don't have anything else right now to give really.  Thank you.

Lights on...9/11 please read!

So, I got this email message:

“PLEASE forward this email to everyone in your address book asking them
to also forward it. Please join us on 9/11. We have over two weeks to get
the word out all across this great land we love and call the United
States of America
. Let's see how powerful e-mail can be!

On Tuesday, September 11, 2007 everyone in the USA who
will be driving a motor vehicle is asked to drive with their headlights
on during daylight hours. Though no explanation is needed as to why we
are commemorating September 11, we hope more importantly to pay
respect to the victims of that day, show our nation's solidarity and
show support for our men and women of the Armed Forces.
You can help by sending this e-mail on to others!

REMEMBER!

LIGHTS ON.....9/11”

Umm…not to toot my own horn or shot out “hey look at me!”, but I’ve been doing this since 9/11/2002.  I actually try to do this on other days that I feel this should be done.  Memorial Day, Pearl Harbor Day, etc.  Now, I’ll admit that I don’t always remember to do this.  But ever since I’ve been driving, if I remember, I have always turned on my lights as a remembrance on those special days that should not be forgotten.

This email almost makes me wonder if that idea is dying out?  I don’t remember where I got it from, but it was something that I’ve always known to do.  I wonder if this younger generation wasn’t taught about things like this?  Or maybe they just don’t care?  Either way, I’m pretty surprised to see this email.  I am hoping that this is the exception, and not the rule.  I would really hate to see such a simple act as respect and remembrance be forgotten in the coming generations.

MOVIE REVIEW: SNAKES ON A PLANE

SNAKES ON A PLANE

Photobucket - Video and Image HostingPhotobucket - Video and Image HostingPhotobucket - Video and Image HostingPhotobucket - Video and Image Hosting = 4 SNAKE FILLED MOTHERFUCKING AIRPLANES!

Storyline: Some dude sees a murder and the murderer wants him killed.

One word: Awsome! Honestly, I went into the movie without the highest of hopes. Even more honestly, when I first heard about this movie I thought it would be totally stupid and that Hollywood has run out of ideas. I then heard that Samuel L. Jackson would be in the movie. My interest was peaked. Not quite enough to want to go see it, but it was peaked. I then started to hear about how dedicated he was to this movie. How he was putting his foot down when they tried to change it’s name or reduce it to a PG film instead of R…then I started to look into it more. By that time the Internet hype machine was in full gear. There are numerous sites dedicated to this film. My personal favorite Internet related item for this movie is the call or email you can get from Sam on this movie.

Now, on to my review! (like anyone actually reads this worthless blog! (no pun intended…seriously)).

The movie did have it’s campy scenes. Not many though. There were only a few spots I could have done without. I like how they had the snakes doing things that we can only imagine in our minds. A snake biting someone in the eye for instance. Or maybe a snake getting under your clothes. They did do some nice snake related exploring pieces. The action was non stop. There were few slow moments. Most of the movie was revolved around the snakes. As expected. The normal slow beginning and ending of the movie was short lived. The action started from around 5 minutes in and stopped with about 5 minutes to spare.

If you don’t like snakes, this movie isn’t for you. My girlfriend found that one out. Even though she said that she thought it looked interesting. She was just going because I wanted to go. I give her credit for that. I owe her so many damn chick flicks right now it’s not funny.

The graphics were really well done. I know from seeing interviews and such on other programs that all the snakes used in the making of the movie were harmless. But they did a great job at making them look dangerous as hell!

All in all…it’s a good movie. Not the best movie ever…but very good. If you enjoy movies like Anaconda, Deep Blue Sea or Lake Placid type movies, then you will thoroughly enjoy this one! It is surprisingly well put together, great actions sequences, everyone who you want to be killed gets killed, decent storyline, altogether fun movie.

P.S. It is R rated…it’s not for kids! I hate the dumb asses who bring their 9 year old kids to these kinds of movies! She didn’t scream or anything, but it’s not a pretty movie. There is a lot of swearing too…some people!

MOVIE REVIEW: PULSE

PULSE = 1 1/2 crappy stars

I really didn’t very high hopes for this movie anyway. It didn’t have any type of “wow!” factor. Nothing really seemed all that original. The basis for the movie is there are dead people that have been released by a virus that found an unknown frequency!!! Everybody panic! How the hell can a virus find an unknown frequency???? It’s like discovering the number 82394! “We had no idea that the number 82394 was between 1 – 100000!” Stupid. Then the dead people use that frequency to come into our world to steal our souls. And then people loose the will to live. That’s basically it. One girl is on a quest to stop it all from happening.

It wasn’t very scary. There were one or two scary/freaky scenes. But nothing that hasn’t been done in the past. If you absolutely must see this move…go see it at the dollar show or bribe a friend into paying for you. I wouldn’t even rent the damn thing. But that’s my opinion…

***EDIT - FUN TIMES THIS PAST WEEKEND - EDIT***

***This post has been edited from it's original posting...you'll see why below.***

So I throw a little house warming party for family and friends Saturday night. Sunday morning, I find my wallet to be empty...including coupons! My bank envelope that I was saving for Property Taxes empty! And my bank envelope with spending money empty! My girlfriends wallet was emptied! There are only 3 people who could have stolen it. One is my girlfriend (who showed me her empty wallet and purse). One is a friend that I've known all my life (30+ years). The other is a friend of the friend. I'm sure it was her. Why? Because while we were sitting out on the patio, she had to go inside the house a few times to go to the restroom. And both me and my friends wife saw her with a bunch of $100's in her purse.

Yep, she almost forgot her purse and her boyfriend went in the house to get it. Opens it to get the car keys out and pulls out a huge wad of cash! With a very dumbfounded look on his face, he asked her where she got it. Since earlier in the night she mentioned that she is not working and has no money ( i.e. she didn't have the money to buy a joint). She claimed she had been saving it.

Of course I didn't think twice at the time. It was late, I had a few beers. Those neurons weren't quite firing very well at the time. Like they say, hindsight is 20/20.

***edited part***
I got a call yesturday from her boyfriend saying that he found my stuff and that he wants to return it. We met up that night and he returned everything.

Appartently, she does not remember taking it. She has a brain tumor and blacks out. Do I believe that...not right now. Would I like to believe that...yes.

I guess she has been going nuts these past few days about this. She lost her phone for a short period. That is why they never called me back. Seems they could have checked her voicemail from any phone...but that's just me thinking. Hmm...like I said, I don't completely believe that. If that is the truth, I hope she gets the help she needs. If that's not the truth, I hope she gets the help she needs.

P.S. One more thing...a big F.U. shoutout to the Madison Heights Police Department for not doing a damn thing through this whole fucking ordeal! I even had fingerprints on the object that was hiding my stuff, but apparently that still didn't point to her actually taking my shit!!!! What the hell is the point of paying taxes, paying insurance when in a time of need all they do is come up with bullshit excuses NOT to help you?!?!?!?!

CLERKS II

I saw Clerks II on opening weekend.  It was the funniest movie that I have ever seen!  You have GOT to go see it!  The first one was good.  And I did have my doubts about another sequel.  But damn is that movie funny!  To get all cliché here…there was non stop laughter!  And EVERYONE laughed.  Not just one or two people; or small groups.  EVERYONE!  I don’t think I have ever experienced that.

The funniest part of the movie, hands down, was the donkey part.  It also happened to be the weirdest, grossest, squinching part of the whole movie as well.  One minute your laughing your ass off, the next minute you want to look away from the screen.  Weird, but funny as hell!

I am definitely going to be buying this when it comes out on DVD.  I really hope they release a dual DVD pack with I & II right away.  I hate it when the studios get greedy and release a movie and then a few months later release a “Director’s Cut” or something money horing like that.  (Dodgeball and Sin City come to mind)

And if you are smart enough to go see it…stick around until the end.  There is no video, but you have to read fast.  I didn’t catch nearly everything, but was I was able to read was great!  One of those play in slow motion from the DVD moments.

Go see it!!!!  CLERKS II

Ben & Jerry’s just realesed a new flavor called “Black & Tan”.  After the well known drink.  I was actually going to go looking for it this weekend.  Then I found this story: http://today.reuters.com/news/articlenews.aspx?type=oddlyEnoughNews&storyid=2006-04-21T183842Z_01_L21365906_RTRUKOC_0_US-BENJERRYS.xml.

Turns out that “Black & Tan” was also a name of a British militia.  Now everyone’s all pissed off!  Well…fuck them!  I’m pissed off too!  Pissed off that all these dumbasses out in the world have to just find a problem with every fucking thing!

IT’S ICE CREAM!  ICE CREAM….not a militia!  And I’m damn sure that Ben & Jerry’s did NOT create this to show their support for this damn militia.  Fucking idiots!

BEN & JERRY’S WHITE RUSSIAN FOREVER!!!!!!!

I am getting so sick of this administration in our government right now.  I just read this story: http://www.capitolhillblue.com/artman/publish/article_8184.shtml which talks about the day our dick president…sorry, vice president shot that guy in the face.  Turns out he was drunk and the police weren’t ALLOWED onto the property to investigate the matter for a DAY AND A HALF!!!!!

Come the fuck on…how many of us can get away with that sort of thing!?!?!?!?  No one!  No one SHOULD be able to get away with that!

I don’t care who the hell you are.  If your drunk and shoot someone…hell, if your not drunk and shoot someone, it should be investigated and if it wasn’t in self defense or a REAL honest mistake, you should go the hell to jail!

Our whole fucking government should be fired!  The President, Vice-President and every other damn member of our government.

George Bush is making the United States of America into a laughing stock for the whole world!

I am sorry about his rant, but I am just so fed up with these idiots.  They get us into this stupid war, they keep us in this stupid war, they conspire with the oil producing nations to raise the gas prices (yes, look it up), they go back on the things they say, and now this.  Why do the American people allow this to happen?

Who were the dumb asses that re-elected this train wreck?????

So now the RIAA says that ripping your CD's...legally owned CD's mind you...to your iPod or making copies of them is illegal!  Even though they tesitified not too long ago that it IS legal!

I say lets all boycott buying CD's and just download 'em off of Kazaa or something!  Viva la Limewire!!!

Sounds pretty plausible...check out the site:

WARNING: IF YOU PLAN TO BUY STUFF FROM MEIJER THAT IS WEARABLE; AND YOU MIGHT POSSIBLY RETURN IT…DON’T BUY IT FROM THEM!!!!

Now, this is why…

I bought some hiker type shoes there last weekend because I needed some thicker, warmer shoes/boots for the winter time.  When I’m out playing with my dogs or shoveling, I would like my feet to stay warm.  Meijer had some on sale and they seemed to fit the bill as to what I was looking for.  Well, I got home, wore them one time for about a half hour out in the backyard to make sure they would stay warm enough.  Well, they didn’t.  I then attempted to return or exchange them at Meijer, but they would not.  The reason?  Because I had wore them.  Even though it was for a short time and even though they were in the exact condition as when I bought them; they would not return them because they had been worn.

Makes me think about people who buy shirts/pants/etc from them.  If you say you wear them, will they not let you return/exchange them as well???  I don’t know, but to be on the safe side…DON’T TAKE THE CHANCE!

So me and my girl went to go see Derailed this weekend.  It was an all right movie.  Nothing to get too excited over.  It started off really slow….we both thought maybe this movie wasn’t quite what we thought it was.  But then it all of a sudden got going.  But it did take a while.  I was able to predict the ending pretty much…there were not big shockers.  I would wait for it to come out on cable or borrow it from a friend before going to the theatre and spending all that hard earned cash to see it.

P.S. Listen to the make out music in the hotel room!  Kinda sounds like something from a cheesy porno, doesn’t it?!?!?

Okay, I’m probably going to piss some people off by this post, but it’s got to be said.

I just read that the United States has pledged up to $50,000,000 (yes, $50 Million) dollars to aid for Pakistan to help with the earthquake that they had the other day.

Now, I know they aren’t the richest country, and I know that it’s a terrible thing.  I understand that lives were lost.  It is a very sad thing to have happened.

But, I would like to know how much did Pakistan give to us for Katrina?  I am just getting sick of all this crap that is going down in this country.  Our national debt is getting bigger and bigger.  Our gas prices are skyrocketing!  There are tons of people out of a job in this country!  There are tons of homeless people in this country!  And the poor, homeless, unemployed don’t have very good health care, or none at all!

Like I said…what happened in Pakistan is terrible.  But between the war, hurricanes, gas prices, jobless rates, a spiraling deficit, end every other thing that’s going wrong in this country; we need to start focusing on this great land a little more.  I’m not saying we should shun the rest of the world and not help when there’s a disaster.  But I think it’s all getting a little out of hand lately.

That’s my two-cents...do with it what you will.

So I just read that the new Yahoo mail is better than Google’s Gmail.  Which I just can’t believe.  I love Gmail!

I checked my Yahoo account, and guess what!?!?  Nothing’s changed!  I made sure I was signed up for the newer version.  And still no difference!  Bah to Yahoo I say!

BTW, I haven’t found a thing from Google that isn’t cool or useful.  I have used Talk, Desktop Search, Earth, Maps, AdSense and their latest Google IG!  I know that’s a lot of stuff and it seems almost like Google is trying to take over our computers.  But the way I look at it is like this.  Google is providing great, useful products and make browsing, searching and everything else for FREE!!!!!  If they were charging for all these services or putting spyware or adware in them, then I would be pissed and not use them.  But they don’t!

This is kinda sounding like an ad for Google.  I just wanted to express my opinion about Google.  Check out their “lab” for other stuff you probably didn’t know they offer.

Life is like a roll of toilet paper. The closer it gets to  the end, the faster it goes.

I saw “The Skeleton Key” this weekend.  It was a pretty good movie.  I kinda had an idea of what was going on…I had my suspicions.  But the ending did surprise me a little.  It was one of those “I didn’t see that coming” kind of things.  Well, it wasn’t quite the ending that surprised me, but something that was revealed near the end.  Then thinking back on the movie, it was like “oh yeah, that’s what that was all about” stuff.

So I would recommend it.  I give it a 4 out of 5.  Hey, now I’m a movie reviewer!  Wo-hoo!

Next order of business.  If you are looking for a Fender Rhodes Seventy Three (73) Mark 1A piano, I have one for sale.  It’s up on eBay right now.  I just thought that if I put it up here, maybe a Google or Yahoo search might pick it up.

So I was watching the news the other night.  There was a story about an apartment complex in downtown Detroit.  It’s sort of a senior citizen apartment complex.  And one of the residents smelled gas.  They evacuated the building to investigate.  This is what the reporter said: “they were literally scared to death”.  The thing is, nobody died.
